A French Country comtoise, or grandfather clock, with polychrome painted pine case and embossed brass pendulum. Original seven day Morbier movement, professionally cleaned and in working order, having an enamel face signed by the clockmaker, Caubet of Valence d'Agen (in Southwestern France). This clock features an automated pendulum with embossed swans and a pinwheel that spins as the pendulum swings back and forth. Pendulum and clock surround have remnants of painted decoration in pale green. blue, white, and pink. The bottom of the case has a decoupage hunting scene of three man and their bird dogs.
