19th Century French Comtoise Grandfather Clock

A good French Country comtoise or grandfather clock with polychrome painted pine case and embossed pendulum. Original seven day Morbier movement, cleaned and in working order, having an enamel face, signed by the clockmaker, Alexandre Vigneau and the name of his town, Tonneins (in the Southwest of France). Pendulum and clock surround have matching embossed, hand-painted decoration: handled urns depicting farm scenes with cows each overflowing with colorful flowers. Nicely detailed painted village scene at the base depicting a waterfront scene and signed: Ménaggio. Circa 1870-1900. 95.25"H x 21.25"W x 8.5"D
