A 19th century Louis Philippe miniature sample commode made of solid walnut with French polish finish. Historically crafted as a meuble de maîtrise by a guild apprentice to demonstrate technical proficiency, or used as a traveling salesman's sample. Three dovetailed drawers with turned knobs and one hidden top drawer. The top knob is different than the others. Original marble top. Pine as a secondary wood. Small repair on back legs. Perfect for storing treasured objects or for use as a jewelry box or men's valet. Please refer to photos for more details. Circa 1820-1830
