An early 19th century French Louis Philippe marble top walnut commode, or chest of drawers. Fine craftsmanship with book-matched walnut veneer on face of drawers and solid walnut sides. Oak as a secondary wood. Original Blue Turquin marble top with double bullnose edge. Five dovetailed drawers: three with cast bronze hardware, one with key at the top and one hidden at the bottom. Drawer pulls are new, in the style of the period. Locks are in working condition with two keys. Minor veneer losses. Circa 1820-1830.
