A fine 19th century French Empire period side table or nightstand made of solid walnut and veneer of walnut and finished on all four sides. Book matched veneers with beautiful swirling patterned wood grain. Two dovetailed drawers with original hardware, beneath one hidden drawer. No keys. Solid walnut columns with bronze decoration and lower shelf on block feet. White veined marble top. Excellent construction. Signature of the ébéniste on interior appears to read I. F. Koller.
