An 18th century French Louis XV Provençal buffet made of solid walnut with pierced carved apron below two curved doors. Nicely detailed with carvings of leafy branches and a center urn on the scalloped apron. Original iron hardware on the doors with working lock and key. This is a typical buffet from Provence and was originally a dough box with a sliding top. The conversion into a sideboard was done by a skilled craftsman at a later date. The large interior trough was removed and the front made into a drawer with new knobs. Good proportions, providing ample storage. Waxed patina. Overall good restored condition with repaired legs. Circa 1760-1780.
