A rustic Country French comptoir or store counter, made of pitch pine with trimmed panels and decorated on the front with a hand-painted yellow bird on a blossoming tree branch. Painting likely added at a later date signed: MB William '33. The top has a brass metal plate, for the exchange of coins, and a decorative gallery with turned spindles. The back has two deep drawers with turned knobs above an open niche. Note: the gallery with be removed for shipping. May be used as a kitchen island, buffet, or console. Circa 1900s.
