A French Horloge De Parquet, or tall case clock made of solid cherry. The case is from the 18th century and the clock is from the late 19th century. In two parts, the case has a tapered body with a marquetry star detail and the top has the original glass panes and a chapeau de gendarme crown. The clock has an enamel face with hand painted Roman numerals and a decorative embossed brass surround. Seven day Morbier movement striking on the hour and once on the half. Professionally cleaned and in working order. Good craftsmanship with pegged and mortise and tenon construction. Old restoration on the feet. Waxed patina. Circa 1760-1780
