A fine 18th century German Louis XVI style marquetry commode, or chest of drawers, with inlaid veneers of walnut, mahogany and maple. Pine as secondary wood. The top has an inlaid pictorial medallion depicting Jesus with outstretched arms and a bible verse below. Three dovetailed drawers with original cast bronze ring hardware. Pegged construction with mortise and tenon joints. Restoration on legs. French polish finish retains a nice luster. Minor veneer loss and replacements.
