Mid-Century Modern Murano Glass Lamp by Barovier & Toso, Italy, 1950s
A Mid Century Murano glass lamp by Barovier & Toso. Hand-blown cased glass with cordonato (rope) form and bullicante (trapped air bubbles) technique. Ercole Barovier pioneered and popularized this specific bullicante bubble finish during the mid-20th century. Luminous ballerina pink color with real silver leaf inclusions formed by rolling the molten pink glass over delicate silver foil, breaking it into tiny, shimmering specks before sealing it under a final clear outer casing. Ornate brass tiered base with floral stamped banding. It is rare to find the original polished brass base intact and in good condition. Classic form with elegant proportions. Rewired with new brass socket and cord. Shipping: $100
