A French Louis XV style bronze mounted marble top marquetry commode, finely crafted of solid mahogany with inlaid veneers of walnut, mahogany and various exotic woods. Beautiful floral marquetry design on the sides. Elegant serpentine form with cabriole legs. French Polish finish retains a nice luster. Two dovetailed drawers with working locks and one key. Good quality polished cast bronze hardware. Beautiful Languedoc red marble top with ogee profile edge. All original. Minor veneer losses. Perfect scale for use as a side table or nightstand. Circa 1940-1960.
