A pair of 19th century French Gien faience urns with hand-painted decoration. Nice form with double handles and square pedestal base. Hand-painted in blue, orange, yellow, and green with Renaissance style imagery. Classical central medallion, allegory motifs with angels, birds and cupids Decorative trim around the rim and base. Gien mark to underside. The Faïencerie de Gien is a ceramic factory in the Loire Valley, founded in 1821. The urns have identical form, but the painted details of each are slightly different. In good condition with the finial of one lid reattached. Circa 1880-1900. Shipping: $120
