A set of three 19th Century French glazed faience plates made by Sarreguemines. Hand-painted and stenciled design in purple, magenta, green and yellow. Two plates with bird motif and one plate with flower bouquet. Marked verso: Opaque de Sarreguemines. The term opaque refers to a high-quality earthenware, often called faience or ironstone, which was designed to mimic the appearance of porcelain but with a more durable opaque body. Circa 1880-1900.
