A vintage Gustavian style Swedish painted pine secretary desk with glass paned bookcase, slant front desk and bottom cabinet. Beautiful old patina with distressed warm gray exterior and contrasting terracotta painted interior. The upper section is a double-door glazed cabinet or hutch enclosing three adjustable shelves and is finished at the top with a classic dentil-style crown molding trim. The middle section has a slant-front or drop-down desktop that opens to reveal internal storage compartments. The lower section has two paneled cupboard doors providing ample storage. Two new locks and two keys. Classic Swedish provincial style characterized by rustic, timeworn painted surface and balanced vertical proportions. The upper section is screwed into the bottom section for added stability and will be removed for shipping. Circa 1920s.
