A late 19th century French Louis XVI style secrétaire à abattant, or drop front secretary desk, made with inlaid veneers of mahogany and various exotic woods. Original cast bronze hardware. Four dovetailed drawers with working locks and one key. The interior has an open niche and six small dovetailed drawers. Tabletop surface is covered in old peach mohair velvet with gimp trim and is slightly worn. Marble top is new. Good restored condition with minor veneer replacement and new brackets. Circa 1890-1900.
