An 18th Century Louis XV style Italian scriban or slant front desk. Made of solid walnut with serpentine front, raised side panels and two dovetailed drawers with hand-carved details. Original cast bronze hardware, working locks with two keys. Desk opens to reveal four small interior drawers. Large iron hinge. Well-crafted using pegged and mortise and tenon construction. Waxed patina. Good condition considering its age with several restorations on drawer face and feet. Some of the interior drawer bottom planks are warped and some were replaced.
Overall dimensions: 47.5"W x 22"D x 38.5"H
When open: 38"D with a clearance of 28.75"H
