A 19th century Country French comtoise, or grandfather clock, with polychrome painted pine case and embossed brass pendulum. Seven day Morbier movement, professionally cleaned and in working order, strikes on the hour, two minutes after the hour and once on the half. Enamel face signed by the clockmaker, and the name of his town, Corbigny (in the Nièvre department in central France). Embossed brass clock surround and pendulum, with floral motif painted in blue, yellow and gold. Note that the original glass panel of the bottom door is in two panes and the top glass has been replaced. Circa 1888-1900
