A 19th Century French adjustable sculptor's stand made of solid beechwood with dark finish and waxed patina. Rectangular top and sturdy tiered triform structure with splayed legs. One leg with roller wheel, so this heavy stand may be easily moved. Large cast iron wheel crank adjusts the pitch of the top board. Lower wooden handled crank adjusts the height. Missing one bolt. A beautifully crafted utilitarian pedestal for the artist's studio. Perfect for the display of a sculpture or for use as a plant stand. Circa 1880-1900.
