A large 19h century Delft earthenware shallow bowl or dish, decorated in blue, with a handwritten Dutch motto in the center. Rough translation: "He who sees through his own heart doesn't judge his brother anything". Yellow glaze to underside with a rope to hang on the wall for display. Frisian 'saying/spreuken' schotel. It was made by pottery Tichelaar in the Dutch city of Makkum. Losses to glaze in center and rim. Circa 1850-1870. 14.25"Diameter x 3.5"H. Shipping: $80
