A 19th century French horloge de parquet, or tall case clock, from Normandy made solid walnut with oak panels. Highly decorated case with beautiful hand-carved floral reliefs and border trim. Cast brass clock surround depicting a rooster. Hand-painted enamel clock face with Roman numerals for the time of day. The numbers on the inside perimeter indicate the days of the month. The day hand is missing. A seven day Morbier movement strikes on the hour, two minutes after and on the half. Brass pendulum visible through round glass pane. Clock is in working order and has been professionally cleaned. Some glass panes have been replaced. Circa 1850-1860. 97.5"H x 18"W x 12"D
