19th Century French Comtoise Grandfather Clock

A 19th century Country French comtoise, or grandfather clock, with polychrome painted pine case and embossed brass pendulum. Original seven day Morbier movement, professionally cleaned and in working order, having an enamel face signed by the clockmaker, Barbery at Veaugues in the Loire Valley. Pendulum and clock surround have matching embossed, hand painted decoration of grape clusters with green leaves and bouquets of red and blue flowers in an urn shaped vase. Case is decorated with sheafs of wheat, a popular harvest motif. The side doors of the clock are fixed. The clock leans slightly to the right. Restoration on bottom of case. Circa 1880-1900. 89.5"H x 20"W x 8.5"D
