A comtoise or grandfather clock with polychrome painted pine case and brass embossment. The pendulum and clockface surround are beautifully decorated with floral motif and retain the original painted surface. Seven day Morbier movement with date, in working condition and professionally cleaned, strikes on the hour, two minutes after the hour and once on the half. This clock was sold by Simon at Mauzé (In Western French, south of the Loire Valley). Clock keeps good time but needs to be wound once a week. New  glass panes on the doors. Small damage to the enamel face near the number ten. One foot of the pine case has been restored. Circa 1860-1880. 92"h x 18"w x 8"d
