A 19th c. French terra cotta roof ornament called "epi à faitage", a traditional architectural roof spire from Normandy. In two parts, the bird fits into the conical base. Some chips and a restored crack on the bird. This whimsical pottery sculpture is a nice decoration for the home or garden. Circa 1860-1880. Overall: 27"h x 8.75" diameter. Bird: 8"w x 3.5"d x 4.5"h
