A 19th century earthenware pottery jug from the Southwest of France with traditional ochre yellow glaze. This unusual terracotta pot has six handles up the sides and was used to store vinegar. Beautiful patina and warm yellow color. Minor losses to glaze. Circa 1840-1860. 11"W x 9"D x 16"H. Weight: 9.4 lbs. These ordinary earthenware vessels were once used daily in the French country home and have beautiful rustic glazes of green, ochre and terracotta. Nice decorative elements especially when several sizes and shapes are grouped together. Shipping $100.
