18th Century French Buffet Sideboard Vaisselier with Clock
A late 18th century Country French buffet vaisselier from Burgundy made of solid walnut beautiful hand-carved decoration of flowers, ribbons and wreaths. The hutch has the original clock with enamel face and cast brass surround and is in working order. Stamped by the clockmaker: I. Mayet and the town: A. Foncine. The plate rack has three shelves and is flanked by two side cabinets with brass knobs that open to three shelves. The buffet has three dovetailed drawers with iron pulls and three doors opening to one interior shelf. The interior retains an old verdigris painted patina. Two working locks and two keys. Waxed finish. Restoration on bottom plank and back legs. The interior shelf of the buffet is new. The shelves of the plate rack are 11.5"H x 17"W, perfect for displaying plates and platters.
