19th Century French Painted Armoire from Alsace

A superb polychrome painted armoire from the Alsace Province, made of yellow pine and retaining its original floral paintings with a double arch crown. Interior has two shelves on the left and and an open space on the right with wooden hooks for hanging clothes. Pegged and dovetailed construction. Five bun feet. The back is constructed of two solid planks. Right escutcheon has been duplicated as it was missing and the working lock is old but not original to the piece. Note: the artist has painted on the doors the date it was created, 1801. Overall width is 51" at the crown. 77"h x 45"w x 23"d More photos available upon request.
