2,250.00

An interesting 19th c. Louis XV style demi-lune console game table made of solid cherry with a checkerboard made of inlaid veneer of cherry. The center leg pulls out to support the top and to reveal a drawer for storing playing pieces. The top hinges open to a felt covered surface. A circular block fits in the middle and was designed to accommodate a bouillotte (not included in this listing) to provide light for card games. When the table is closed, a half moon block fits into place. A very clever design and a sturdy, well made table. Pegged construction and waxed patina. Circa 1840-1860. Closed: 41"w x 20"d x 28.5"h. Open: 40"diameter x 27.5"h
